How do you get immortalized in art? Tim and Moby can’t answer that, but they can tell you how to look at and interpret portraits. In this BrainPOP movie, you’ll find out why artists paint portraits and why someone might want a portrait painted. You’ll get a close-up look at one famous portrait of a very important person and see how to pick up on important clues in the work to figure out what the portrait is saying about that person. You’ll also learn why not all portraits look like the person they’re depicting as well as some of the reasons why a painter might paint a portrait.
