Here’s How 1 School Did It…

There’s still time to enter our Invite a Friend Contest! We asked one of our schools that inspired us to create this contest to share how they got their entire staff on board with BrainPOP Educators. Justin Schaef, Director of Data Management and Technology for NY’s Washingtonville Central School District shares his secrets:

BrainPOP and BrainPOP Jr. are one of Taft Elementary School’s favorite websites.  Recently, we have discovered BrainPOP Educators.  This cool (and FREE!) website provides awesome resources specific to the classroom teacher.  These include classroom tools, lesson plans, video tutorials, alignment to state standards, and much, much more.

At Taft Elementary School we utilized one of our monthly technology sessions to introduce Taft teachers to the BrainPOP Educators website.  During this session, we worked with groups of classroom teachers to create accounts and explore all the resources.  In the weeks that followed, teachers met in small grade level groups to discuss which resources they liked best and how they are using them or plan to use them.  Best practices were shared and collaboration among the teachers enable teachers to work together on lessons to improve teaching and learning while engaging our 21st century learners.

Get the details on how to enter our contest and win on-site professional development for your school! Contest ends on December 31, 2009.
