Wednesday, August 29th at 4:00 PM ET- Inspired Global Education and Mobility with EdTech Guru Lucy Gray
Also as part of the Connected Educators Month thread on teacher collaboration, we welcome Lucy Gray, educational consultant, for a webinar full of new ideas about technology-based methods for connecting teachers and students globally. Lucy is also the founder of the Global Education Collaborative, a social network for educators, and most recently served as co-chair for the Global Education Conference, an innovative online conference with 400+ sessions attended by over 15,000 participants. Additionally, Lucy is an Apple Distinguished Educator and Google Certified Teacher with great energy and enthusiasm for global education.
I was curious about global education when I checked weekly webinars and wanted to learn. I realized that I was throughly interested to learn many new ideas about connecting teachers and students globally. It was all new to me! I hope I will continue to learn more new other things relating to the global education so I can gain to get more knowledge!
Lucy, You gave a great webinar and your resources and web site will take much time for exploration. IEarn is the site I am excited to start with.
Thank you for the webinar. It was all new and inspiring to me. Will need some time to “digest” the information we were provided with to give it a try in my teaching (I teach English to Russian will-be-teachers).
Looking forward to having a good sleep (webinar started at 2 am my time!) so that I can check the links given with a clear mind to see if they can give some fresh ideas to my langiuage teaching.
Best regards,

P.S. Getting global indeed =)
It was a great webinar with Lucy- the projects and resources were many! Since she covered so much in 1 hour – I am looking forward to the recording to write down all the wonderful ideas. I was inspired to realize that many educators are trying to create ways to integrate technology into the classroom using what is available and not waiting for the school districts. I plan to register for the Global Education Conference in November to connect and learn. I Truly understand that to have globally educated/ connected kids- the teacher needs to be leading the way. I stand up for the model* Learning by Doing model= communication, creativity and collaboration. Thank you BrainPop for having guru Lucy on today
Thank you so much for your presentation Lucy, I thoroughly enjoyed it. I am very interested in applying some of your ideas into my 7th and 8th grade classes. I am also very interested in asking my administration what makes a 21st century classroom and school.
All the best!

I really enjoyed Lucy’s presentation. As a homeschooler, I am always looking for ways to connect globally and learn with others. Lucy’s project examples were inspiring and gave me ideas on projects to do in our homeschool.
I really enjoyed this one. I am a media specialist and I am trying to teach students to be more culturally and globally aware. I think the resources that Lucy presented are going to be so valuable in teaching these kinds of lessons. I can’t wait to look at the different projects that she presented and also look into the books titles she mentioned. I really want to be more knowledgeable and comfortable with this before I start teaching this to my students.
Thank you Lucy! I’m excited to try Think.com. You said it’s a safe place for younger ones to explore. I teach second grade and I’m always looking for sites that they can explore. Also I think joining an existing group project is a great idea. I sometimes forget that I don’t have to reinvent the wheel. Thanks again!
Lucy shared several new resources that I am going to check into! I am re-energized and re-committed to helping teachers find and cultivate global relationships!
what a helpful webinar.Thank you.
