Note-taking

New On BrainPOP: Note-Taking Skills

Posted by Andrew Gardner on

Just in time for back to school, we introduce our newest movie topic page – Note-Taking Skills. Start the year with this one and prompt students to use best practices for watching BrainPOP movies  all year long! In the movie, Tim and Moby explore the ways note-taking focuses your mind and allows you to identify the main ideas of any lesson–while giving you a written document to study later. Find out why you shouldn’t try to copy every word you hear, no matter how fast you write. Learn various time- and space-saving tricks to make your notes clearer and more useful. Techniques like shorthand and the Cornell System will help you get the gist of the lecture and keep up with what your teacher is saying. It’s time you took note of the value of note-taking! Remember, listening helps, but if you really want to learn, you have to write it down!
