Solve real world and mathematical problems involving perimeters of polygons, including finding the perimeter given the side lengths, finding an unknown side length, and exhibiting rectangles with the same perimeter and different areas or with the same area and different perimeters.
Perimeter is the outline or distance around something. In this movie, you’ll learn how to find the perimeters of objects by using measurement and addition. A shape or figure’s perimeter is found by measuring the length of each side and adding the lengths together. When you add many numbers together, you create longer number sentences. You can find the sum of a long number sentence by skip-counting, counting on, adding doubles, or making ten. So grab your ruler or tape measure, it’s time to start measuring!
