This quick game allows students to test their knowledge about the states of matter. They must sort increasingly fast falling objects into the proper category. The objects sometimes defy an easy categorization into solid, liquid, gas or plasma, but mistakes are explained at the end of each level, and objects will appear multiple times through game play to reinforce correct descriptions.

Grades: 3-8
In this lesson plan, which is adaptable for grades 3-8, students use BrainPOP resources to explore the states of matter. Students will determine whether an example of matter is a solid, liquid, gas, or plasma through collaborative, real-world activities and gameplay.
