Hi! I’m Jana, an academic coach who also teaches first grade. I submitted a lesson plan (that I hope is published) using the Nouns video. We watch the video to introduce the concept of nouns. We sort nouns by person, place, thing, or animal. Then I model highlighting nouns in a writing piece and sorting those nouns I highlighted. Lastly, I have the students highlight nouns in their writing and sort those nouns.

Greetings! My name is Crystal and I am the author of Kreative in Kinder, a teaching blog. I just submitted a lesson on Hibernation. I LOVE BrainPOP Jr. and think it is an amazing resource for educators. It is hard to find great science resources and BrainPOP can be an asset to any classroom.
    Blessings,
    Crystal

Hello! My name is Joy and I am an Intervention Specialist. I love the BrainPOP video on angles! The lesson plan I submitted begins with students watching the BrainPOP video on angles (it does such a good job giving them an overview and exposing them to the vocabulary). Then the kids are given digital cameras to find examples of the different types of angles int he school. Students then create a poster, book, or digital project to show their angles. Using protractors, the kids get to measure the angles. The lesson is finished up with the quiz from BrainPop.
    Joy :)

Hi! I am Stephanie and the lesson plan I submitted was using the Columbus and Columbian exchange videos. The students watched them and we talked about the positive and negative effects of this chapter in history. The kids filled in a multi flow map and also wrote an essay about the effects. It was a great way to get them thinking of the ramifications of the explorers actions.

Hello! I am Kathy Keith, an Intervention Specialist for K-3. I think the video on counting coins was awesome. My lesson plan incorporates the video and practice to help students become successful at counting money.
