Political games provide excellent simulations that illustrate the decision making and difficulties that government officials make. There are many political games on GameUp, How are you using them?

Be sure to join us on October 17th, at 4:00 PM Eastern Time, for a webinar with our friends Kelly and Carrie at iCivics. iCivics produces award winning games about American Government (that we feature on GameUp) and they have even more teaching resources available on their own site: icivics.org

We’ve just mixed two new GameUP-influenced election year quizzes:

    1) Election 2012 (code: vkpplh) applies the campaign trail lessons of Win the White House to this year’s presidential contest.

    2) Election Year Economics (code: 0pmnkr) assesses your knowledge of the Obama and Romney platforms as they apply to Budget Hero: Election Edition.

If you missed our awesome election-focused webinar with iCivics, be sure to check out the archived version on our webinar page. We covered some great ways to bring the election into your classroom while engaging your students with games!

Have you used GameUP iCivics games to help your students learn about the US government? Consider creating a proposal to share your experience at the completely online Global Education Conference.
