Moby’s Abuzz With YOU on Twitter and Instagram!

February 11, 2013

Moby Dance!

For the past two weeks, Moby has been on the road visiting conferences and meeting his biggest fans! At FETC in Florida, and TCEA in Texas, educators posed for photographs with him and were quick to post their images with the hashtag #mobyandme to Twitter and Instagram for the BrainPOP community to see!  Using a service called “Sharypic” we’ve put together slideshows with all the fun photos. Be sure to discover and follow other BrainPOP fans on Twitter and Instagram! #Mobyandme at TCEA in Austin Texas TCEA photos> #Mobyandme at FETC in Orlando Florida FETC photos>

I just came across this great tweet, Thirty Interesting Ways & Tips to use Twitter in the Classroom, by Tom Barrett, and am a tiny bit sad that I’m not in a classroom anymore to try these ideas out! We had a really cool “twitterview,” or interview over twitter, between a 3rd grade class and @annieandmoby and @timandmoby, where students prepared questions to ask the characters on BrainPOP. It was a great success! Are you following @annieandmoby and @timandmoby? How are you using twitter in your classroom? Please share ideas below!

Our First Twitterview!

January 28, 2010

Many teachers are starting to use Twitter to broaden their PLN, or Personal Learning Network. Twitter enables teachers to tap into other educators from around the globe, allowing them to share expertise, ideas, and resources. A few teachers are starting to use Twitter with students, provided it’s not blocked by their district or school. This afternoon, third graders from Sts. Philip and James School in Long Island, NY, will conduct a Twitterview (Twitter + interview) with Tim, Annie, and Moby, who will be answering questions — in 140 characters or less! Tune in to Twitter at 1:30 EST, or take a look at this Twitterlist to catch up.  Special thanks to Tech Teacher George Haines for bringing Twitter + BrainPOP into the classroom. Are you using Twitter in your school? We welcome you to collaborate and interact with @timandmoby  @annieandmoby or @brainpop!

Back in the Swing of Things

September 17, 2009

It’s been great to see all these creative ways teachers and administrators get the word out to their staff to ensure they don’t miss out on BrainPOP. Here are a few examples I found recently. Robert Miller created a dedicated page of his class website filled with information for his students, families, and peers with a great name: Your Daily Dose of BrainPOP! And Josh and Reagan, two students in the class, created POP Blog with information on how extra credit can be earned using BrainPOP! Mr. Coley embedded the Featured Movie of the Week on his class website. Seattle Homeschooling for the Beginner Examiner embedded our Moby widget! Teachers Tech Blog blogs about BrainPOP! Bryan from Taymans Tech Blog created his own BrainPOP Refresher for his middle school staff, and explained the details of their subscription so no one misses out. and the Tweets… don’t get me started! That will get its own blog post very soon, but just a few great ideas: Teachers who train their colleagues: @nikilnh: Just presented features of BrainPOP teachesr may not be aware of. http://tinyurl.com/cy9k6q @brainpop Teachers who share class updates: Sept 11 http://www.brainpop.com/socialstudies/ushistory/september11th/ Nice job @brainpop!
