New York, May 4 – In response to swine flu-related questions from children across the country, BrainPOP – an award-winning producer of online, educational resources for grades 3 and up – has launched a new, free movie designed to gently explain and reduce anxiety about the current situation.

The swine flu animated movie addresses, in a voice children can relate to, questions about what a virus is, how viruses spread, and the precautions everyone can take to stay healthy. BrainPOP Jr. – for children in grades K-3 – is offering a free movie on hand washing as well, and BrainPOP Educators features tips for how to discuss the this topic with students.

"BrainPOP is striving to alleviate kids’ concerns by empowering them with accurate information they can understand," said Avraham Kadar, M.D., BrainPOP’s founder and CEO. "Hopefully, our content will provide some clarity and help clear up misconceptions about the swine flu outbreak."

BrainPOP invites site visitors to embed and share the swine flu resource on their own blogs and web sites.
