Camouflage

How well can you hide? In this movie, Tim and Moby will teach you about the different methods animals use to stay hidden from both prey and predator. You'll learn about some of the more common forms of camouflage, like countershading, where an animal's back is darker than its belly; disruptive coloration, which makes it hard to distinguish an animal's outline; and protective coloration, which helps animals blend in with their environments. You'll also learn about the active camouflage made possible by chromatophores, specialized skin cells that let creatures like chameleons and octopi change color at will! Peekaboo - we see you!
