Thirty days hath September…but why the heck does February have 29 every four years? In the BrainPOP movie on leap years, you’ll learn exactly why we need to fiddle with the calendar in order to keep it consistent with the movement of the earth around the Sun. Tim and Moby will give you a brief history of the calendar we use today and explain how Julius Caesar himself helped establish it! You’ll learn why the Western world had to adopt a new calendar system in the 16th century and the rules this new system set for planning leap years.
