How New York City Schools Can Subscribe to BrainPOP Through FAMIS

FAMIS (Facilities Asset Management Information System) is a service for New York City based schools offered through the Department of Education. Educators in these schools can use the FAMIS system to subscribe to BrainPOP for their classrooms, labs and schools.

Below are some helpful guidelines for subscribing to BrainPOP through FAMIS:

1. Log into FAMIS at the FAMIS Login Portal.
2. Select Purchasing from the menu on the left, then select Non-Contracted.
3. Under Non-Contracted, choose Sole Vender; you do not need to provide a sole source letter from BrainPOP as one is already on file in the FAMIS system.
4. Enter the following Vendor Number for BrainPOP: BRA013000. Click the Retrieve Vendor Information button. Once the BrainPOP vendor information appears, click Next.
5. Input the necessary Invoicing information for your institution.
6. IMPORTANT: When entering in Deliver To options, be sure to include the following in the Special Delivery Instructions field so that this information can be transmitted to the Subscriber Relations team at BrainPOP:
   • An email address to use for contact
   • Your desired username and password for BrainPOP (This username and password will be used by everyone who is going to use the account)
   • If you are renewing a subscription, indicate that it is a renewal in the Special Delivery Instruction box along with your current username and password.
7. On the Account Detail Information page, enter the price of the subscription you are purchasing. You can find information on the prices of BrainPOP subscriptions here.
8. On the Item Details page, leave the Item # field as N/A. Enter in the Description field the name of the BrainPOP package you are subscribing to, then enter the quantity and price.
9. Before completing your purchase order through FAMIS, be sure to make note of whether you will be submitting your order electronically through FAMIS OR printing it out to send in yourself. If you choose the print it out, you may fax your order to BrainPOP at (866) 867-MOBY.
