The NMC Horizon Project Wants Your Stories of Innovative Technology Use in the Classroom!

The 2013 Horizon.STEM Advisory Board invites educators to share their stories on innovative classroom technology! The NMC Horizon Project has selected a list of 12 “Technologies to Watch” which will be included in the upcoming Technology Outlook for STEM+ Education 2013-2018: An NMC Horizon Project Analysis.

This is part of an exciting collaboration between the New Media Consortium (NMC), Centro Superior para la Enseñanza Virtual (CSEV), Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia (UNED), and Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).  

The 12 technologies the NMC Horizon Project are focusing on include:

  • Learning Analytics
  • Mobile Learning
  • Online Learning
  • Virtual and Remote Laboratories
  • 3D Printing
  • Games and Gamification
  • Immersive Learning Environments/Simulations
  • Wearable Technology (with an emphasis on Google Glass)
  • Flexible Displays
  • The Internet of Things
  • Machine Learning
  • Virtual Assistants

If you or your colleagues have been part of related research, pilot programs, innovative projects, or faculty/teacher work at your school or organization, just share your reflections using NMC Horizon Project’s brief web form. All you need for submission is a title, URL, and a one- or two-sentence description.

Submissions are due October 1st and it’s a short process that should take you less than 2 minutes to complete!
