Educator Resources for Build-A-Body
Build-a-Body is an online interactive in which students drag and drop organs into place on the human body. They can score points for correctly placing the organs and for figuring out what part of the body they connect to. We recommend using this interactive to support instruction on the body system. The case studies portion of the game is a useful tool for instruction on diseases and health, as it incorporates various illnesses for students to diagnose and then determine appropriate treatment.

Digestive System Lesson Plan: Build-A-Body Game
Grades: 6-12
In this lesson plan, students use a free online science interactive game to learn about the organs and organ substructures of the human digestive system. Students work in teams to identify the digestive system’s parts and structures, and drag and drop them to the correct position within the body to build a complete system. Students will also attempt case studies where a problem within the system must be linked to the structure affected.
